Preservation Sweet Spot: Tips for the Perfect Booking
Updated: March 25, 2026
Your wedding bouquet is more than just a beautiful arrangement; it's a symbol of your special day. Preserving your flowers allows you to cherish those memories for years to come, transforming a fleeting moment into a lasting keepsake.
But like all things wedding-related, timing is key!
Knowing when to book your preservation and when to deliver your blooms is crucial for optimal results. So let dive into booking your floral preservation and tips on how to ensure a stress-free post-wedding delivery.
How far in advance should I book?
One of the most common questions I receive from couples is, "When should I book my flower preservation?"
My recommendation is to book between two and six months in advance of your wedding date. This timeframe ensures availability, especially during peak wedding season.
Since I can only take a limited number of preservation each week to maintain the highest quality — booking early avoids disappointment and guarantees your spot!
I cannot insure that I’ll have a spot in my press for last minute bookings, I accept reservations up to one-year in advance from your event date.
I routinely maintain my Availability Page where you can to confirm that I have a spot open for your event date!
Pro Tip! If you are getting married in the Fall, save your spot as soon as possible! I always book out in advance and have to turn down last minute orders. Fall is my most busy season!
So now that you know the ideal timeframe for booking, what is the process and timeline for drying your flowers?
Great question! Keep reading for our preservation process.
Drying Timeline: Drop-Off to Final Artwork
Once your wedding day has passed, the next important step is getting your flowers to me promptly.
Ideally, you should deliver or ship your bouquet within one to three days after your wedding to my home-studio in Cincinnati, OH.
This short turnaround ensures the flowers are still fresh and vibrant, maximizing the preservation potential and minimizing wilting. Fresh flowers yield the best results, capturing their original beauty and color.
The entire preservation process, from the moment you drop off your flowers to the time you receive your finished artwork, typically takes about eight to ten weeks or more depending on peak season.
This includes four to six weeks for the delicate drying process, one week for design and collaboration with your feedback, and finally one week for pick-up or shipping.
Pro Tip! Dedicate someone such as a bridesmaid or your parents to drop-off your wedding flowers. This removes the post-wedding stress of dropping off your flowers to me, and is especially helpful if you are going on your honeymoon right away!
While floral preservation requires some patience, the result is a stunning, one-of-a-kind piece of art that you'll treasure forever. A preserved bouquet is a beautiful reminder of the love and joy you shared on your special day!
